Cotahuasi Canyon

Cotahuasi village is hanging in  the cliff at 2600 m altitude; It is unknown because of its distance from Arequipa. This is the deepest canyon of the world: immense waterfalls are falling towards the river in the valley below. Hot springs, like in Chivay, are between 40 and 100°C. In the environs there are some lakes with bright colors that offer wonderful trekking options; the reflection of the high volcanic peaks is more impressive then. Others traditional villages, where the population life did not change throughout the last century, are available to see after long or short trekkings.
